Eligibility

Fort Moore and Camp Merrill are open to all active-duty service members assigned to each respective duty station.

Click on our step-by-step PCS Guide, which outlines what you can expect from the process 180, 90, and 30 days before PCSing to Fort Moore or Camp Merrill. Another great resource is the Fort Moore Newcomer’s Brochure, which is packed with information about living on-post.

Service members may apply for a tentative position on the waitlist upon reporting to a duty station, by having orders in hand, or by submitting one or more of the following Additional Documents in lieu of official orders:

  • A copy of any official notification you may have from your receiving

  • Command ORB or ERB notification

  • Web orders RFO RIP

  • An email or memorandum advising you of your future Fort Moore or Camp Merrill duty station

Once we have received and verified your information, you will be placed on our waitlist based on your rank and the number of family members. We invite you to visit our Waitlist page for the most up-to-date wait-time estimates.

Note that your position on the waitlist is based on the date you departed your last duty station, as verified by the clear date or other equivalent services. Your active position on the waitlist is secured only after we receive your Final out-stamped clearing papers. Additionally, if you apply for a home more than 30 days after your date of arrival, you will be placed on the waitlist with an effective date equivalent to the date of application.

How to Apply

We recommend downloading our Application Checklist and Housing Assignment Policy or Key and Essential Housing Assignment Policy documents to help you prepare for the housing application process. When you are ready to apply:

  • Click the Military Application button below. Register/sign in and complete the Military Application for housing.

  • Gather the following supporting documents. Please note that if all required documents cannot be submitted with the application, they can be submitted to The Leasing Team later.

    • A copy of your orders and all the amendments you have received.

    • Copy of your DD Form 1172 (DEERS Enrollment) or a copy of your marriage license (if you are a newlywed)

    • Copy of your most recent LES

    • Copy of your Power of Attorney (if your spouse will be signing for the home)

    • Final out-stamped clearing papers (once cleared of current post) or DA 31 (if not clearing an installation)

    • Proof of active renter’s insurance policy (Renter’s Insurance FAQs)

    • Copy of your driver’s license

  • Work with one of our experienced leasing agents to review and prepare additional supporting documents as needed:
